Kristin (she/they) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC (#22812). She received her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Kristin has experience working with adolescents, adults, and seniors with a variety of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief,
and neurological disorders such as schizophrenia. She also works with couples helping them work through their relationship challenges and providing insight into how they communicate.
Kristin understands that clients are all unique, each coming with their own individual stories that make up who they are. She also understands that collectively, identities, values, and beliefs are shaped by the culture that we live in, and trying to meet its often impossible expectations can lead to personal difficulties. Clients need a calm and safe place to bring this all out into the open.
Kristin uses trauma informed Narrative, Adlerian, and Feminist approaches to analyze the personal and cultural factors of a client’s life. She also uses approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to tackle more objective and short term issues. She is continuing her training in order to better incorporate Internal Family Systems into her practice.
When she has time to herself, she can often be found writing novellas, listening to music, taking long walks, and spending time with her family.
